This chopper from the U.S. Coast Guard evacuated a young girl/woman with Appendicitis. With no insurance her bill for this airlift would be in the neighborhood of $30,000 to$50,000. Travel Insurance will pay for this sort of emergency and she may, or may not have had it.. This incident occurred in late February of 2006.
